His name is Sharon. He was born deaf. His father served as a soldier in the Armed Forces of Australia. Their families a warm and democratic. Also concerned with education.

Despite its many limitations on his hearing, he went smoothly in special schools. He was also hanging out with friends his age. On the way to school that is, his heart enlightened. He tells of wal first became acquainted with Islam:

"When I was 13 years old, when I went to school, I see Muslim girls wearing headscarves and tuna runguku friend said," It's too hot! Why do they wear like that! "

I said to my friend, "Shut up! That's their culture!"

I grew up in an environment where some neighbors are Muslim. I remember, on certain days I see so many women who wear hijab. I often wondered how they could be like that.

Since then, I started studying other religions, other religions kuanut. But I can not think of Islam. Some friends laughed at me, when they know I'm finding out about Islam and I was trying to become Muslim,

They thought I was crazy. But I ignore it.

One day, I went to the mosque in Lakemba. I say the sentence I became Muslim creed. But because I was a new Muslim, I am afraid to wear the hijab.

Until then, I feel steady and veiled. Oh yes, the veil to protect me from the shock of my parents for my religious choice. Yes, without me saying, they know I'm a Muslim. Thank God, they accept and agree.

Instead, my friends actually shocked and changed after I became Muslim. Especially, look at the clothes I wear.

I continue to learn the religion, learning ablution and prayer.

Another day, a few people ask me Runa hearing so many questions about the hijab, they say like: what color your hair? or why do you cover? But to me, is an important question which I have to explain to them. You know, most of the deaf do not understand about Islam as a normal person.

I am always happy to explain about Islam. Alhamdulillah, the growth of my faith like a flower and I have learned about God's guidance to the right path. This year I became a Muslim eight.
